Tennis picked to finish fifth in the preseason poll
The Ohio Valley Conference preseason tennis poll was released Thursday and the Lindenwood tennis team was picked to finish fifth. The Lions scored 13 points in the poll.
Southeastern Missouri, seeking its third straight regular-season title, finished second with 28 points. Western Illinois picked up the final first-place vote for third place, receiving 26 points, while Southern Indiana received 22 points for fourth place. Lindenwood finished fifth with 13 points and is followed by Eastern Illinois (12 points) and Tennessee State (10).
Fabiana Labrador gained recognition as Lindenwood's singles player to watch Daniela Rosenberger And Michelle Trochez were named as the doubles pair to watch the Lions.
Rosenberger and Trochez are both transfers from the University of Texas Rio Grande and Lubbock Christian University, respectively. At Lubbock Christian, Trochez was named MVP, while Rosenberger posted eight wins a few seasons ago. Labrador begins her second season at Lindenwood.
The Lions open the spring on Friday, taking on Northern Illinois in St. Clar, Illinois, at 1:30 PM before hosting North Dakota on Sunday in St. Peters, Missouri, at 8 PM.
