Winter storms are set to hit across the UK next week, with heavy snowfall possible at rates of up to 5cm per hour. An Arctic onslaught is expected to last 12 hours, with the Met Office warning a cold spell in Europe could “increase” the chances of heavy snowfall as January approaches its finale.
