San Jose Earthquakes sign Spivey Brothers from academy program to professional contracts

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes have signed brothers Kedren and Jermaine Spivey to professional contracts.

Midfielder Caedryn Spivey has signed a contract with the Earthquakes' MLS senior team as a homegrown player until 2028 with a club option for 2029. Meanwhile, striker Jermaine Spivey has signed a contract with the Earthquakes' MLS NEXT Pro side, The Town FC. , until 2026 with a club option for 2027.

Born and raised in San Jose, Kaydryn and Jermaine are two of three Spivey siblings in the Earthquake developmental pyramid. Shemar Spivey, the youngest of the trio, is currently in his first season with the Quakes Academy U-14 team.

Kaydren, 15, is the 2023-24 MLS Under-15 Player of the Year, presented by adidas after an outstanding season, in which he scored 11 goals in 21 matches. He scored three more times in the prestigious adidas 2024 Generation Cup to take his team to the quarter-finals in the U15 age group. Kaedrin also represents the United States at the U-15 level, most recently winning the Vlatko Marković tournament in Croatia last May. Jermaine, 18, began his journey with the Earthquakes youth feeder teams when he was eight years old. He burst onto the national scene as a Quakes Academy U-13 player, leading the country with 36 goals in 26 matches as the team was ranked fourth in the country by TopDrawerSoccer. At U17 level, Jermaine continued to excel, contributing 18 goals (12g/6a). Recently, he has really begun to earn playing time as a professional for The Town FC, appearing in 23 matches and logging 251 minutes over the past two seasons. Jermaine has been called up several times to join the Center's Regional Talent Identification Program for the US Youth National Team.
