President Prabowo aims to make IKN his political capital in 2028

BeritaNasional.com – President Prabowo Subianto aims to make the Indonesian capital (IKN) the political capital in 2028.
This was stated by the head of the IKN authority, Basuki Hadimuljono, after holding a limited meeting with Prabowo on Tuesday (21/1/2025).
“It is his goal that in 2028, IKN will become the political capital,” Basuki told reporters at the presidential palace complex.
Therefore, Basuki continued, his party must immediately complete the construction of offices and residences for the judicial and legislative ecosystem.
“For the judiciary and legislature, there was previously a design from the Ministry of PUPR, the basic design. He requested that it be revised again. Then we, together with the Ministry of Public Works and the IKN, will form a design team which can then be led by Mr. “President regarding the future,” Basuki said.
To complete this development, a budget of IDR 48.8 trillion is needed for the period 2025-2029.
“First, complete the legislative, judicial and support ecosystem complexes, as well as open access to the IKN in the WP2 area. Because we were in WP1, it goes to WP2,” Basuki said.
“This Rp48.8 trillion also includes the maintenance and management of infrastructure and facilities that have been completed at the initial stage,” Basuki added in conclusion.
