Stott added that while ADHD is unlikely to be a direct cause of lower life expectancy, people with ADHD are more likely to have mental health problems and have less access to society. “Unfortunately, we know that people with ADHD have higher rates of suicide,” Stott says. “They are also more likely to engage in risky behaviors such as smoking, drinking, and indeed bulimia.”
