NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday paid tribute to Balasaheb Thackeray on his birth anniversary.
The Prime Minister said Balasaheb Thackeray was widely respected and recognized for his commitment to public welfare and development of Maharashtra.
“I pay tribute to Balasaheb Thackeray Ji on his birth anniversary. He is widely respected and known for his commitment to the public welfare and development of Maharashtra. He was uncompromising on his fundamental beliefs and always helped build pride in Indian culture,” Prime Minister Modi said in a post on X.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tribute to Balasaheb Thackeray, highlighting his lifelong dedication to the ideals of Sanatan culture and nationalism.
Shah said Balasaheb's principles and ideological steadfastness will continue to inspire us forever.
“The revered Balasaheb Thackeray, who devoted his entire life to the ideals of Sanatan culture and nationalism, always placed the welfare of the nation above all else. Even in adverse circumstances, Balasaheb never of compromise on his principles, and his ideological firmness will continue to inspire us forever,” he said in a post on X.
“On the occasion of the birth anniversary of strong nationalist Balasaheb Thackeray, we bow before him with deep respect,” he added.
The Union Home Minister said Thackeray was dedicated to the ideals of Sanatan culture and nationalism throughout his life and always prioritized love of the nation through his work.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde also paid tributes to Balasaheb Thackeray.
“Humble tributes to the venerable emperor of the Hindu heart, Shiv Sena leader Balasaheb Thackeray, on his birth anniversary, in his sacred memory,” Shinde said in a post on X.
Aditya Thackeray also paid tribute on X: “Hindu Hriday Samrat, there will never be another like him. On his birth anniversary, a humble tribute!” Aditya’s message is read.
Balasaheb Thackeray was the founder of Shiv Sena party and spoke on the issues of Maratha people and Hindus.
