Strengthening the Alliance and the construction of the movement to end the mangling with female genitals
Women's genitals to crush human rights violations that inflict deep and lifelong physical, emotional and psychological scars girls and women. This harmful practice today affects more than 230 million girls and women. It is estimated that 27 million more girls could withstand this violation of their rights and dignity by 2030. If we do not take measures now.
Today, on the International Day of Zero Tolerance to Women's Genital Conditioning, and in response to the topic “Reinforcing the pace: Strengthening of the Alliance and the construction of the ending of women's genitals”, UNFPA, UNICEF and which confirm our commitment to the work of the country and the community to end this harmful practice – once and for all.
There is hope. Many countries have noted a decline in the distribution of female genitals. We are witnessing progress in countries such as Kenya and Uganda, where associate actions and initiatives that run in the community prove that by strengthening the Alliance and the construction of the movement, we can accelerate changes.
Since the launch of a joint UNFPA-UNICEF program on removing the insecting of women's genitals in 2008, and in collaboration with WHO, close to 7 million girls and women approach prevention and protection services. In addition, 48 million people have announced public statements to leave the practice, and 220 million individuals have been reached by mass media messages on the matter. In the last two years, close to 12,000 organizations and 112,000 community workers and fronts have encouraged to influence a change at this critical moment.
Still, the fragility of the progress achieved also became sharply obvious. In Gambia, for example, attempts to abolish the prohibition of maternity of female genitals were still, even after his parliament rejected the initial proposal for it last year. Such efforts could seriously impair the rights, health and dignity of future generations of girls and women, threatening tireless work for decades to change their attitudes and mobilize communities.
Of the 31 countries in which the data on prevalence are collected at the national level, there are only seven countries on the road to fulfill the aim of the sustainable development of the completion of the solitude of the female genitals to or before 2030. The current progress rate must quickly accelerate in order to fulfill this goal.
This requires reinforced alliances among leaders, wide organizations and through sectors that include health, education and social protection – as well as permanent advocacy and enlarged social movements with girls and survivors in the center.
It requires greater responsibility at all levels to ensure that human rights obligations are supported, and policies and strategies are implemented to protect girls at risk and provide care, including justice, for survivors. It also requires increased investment in scaling proven interventions. We are in charge of generous donors and partners who support this work that changes their lives and invite others to join them.
We all have a role to ensure that every girl is protected and can live off harm. Let's step up the tempo and act with urgency. Now is the time to end the sacrifice of women's genitals.

Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless.
