The Russian earthquake leads to consulting tsunami in Alaska

September 18 (UPI) – An earthquake along the eastern coast of the Russian Peninsula of Kamchatka caused the national weather service in Tsunami to parts of Alaska on Thursday.

An earthquake of 7.8 sized about 90 miles from the Kamchatka coast on Thursday morning and raised the second highest warning in NWS.

The consultant covered the western Aleyotian Islands, from Amchitka Pass to Attu Island, warning people against staying outside the water and avoiding beaches and waterways.

NWS, a Tsunami consultant, was canceled shortly after 5 pm EST.

The earthquake at the NWS Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii also caused an alert at 10:41 am.

Warning warned that any tsunami will start at 2:51 pm HST, with potential tsunami waves ranging from 1 feet and 3 feet, according to The Star Advertiser.

No consultations have been issued to the coastal areas of the United States or Canadian in the Pacific Ocean.

An earthquake occurred on Thursday morning near the same site, as an earthquake of 8.8 occurred on July 29, causing the release of tsunami alerts throughout the Pacific Ocean.
