WATCH: Police arrest two men for Ross’ murder

The POLICE will allege that the bikers accused of the murders of Shane Ross and Cameron Martin, executed in the manner of an execution, first made a “dry run”.

Suspected Lone Wolf gang members Brodie Singh, 42, and Nathan Miller, 34, faced Southport Magistrates Court, charged yesterday with two counts of murder for “ serious organized crime ”, aggravating circumstances and one count of illegal use of a motor vehicle.

Police released a video yesterday evening showing the couple’s arrest.

An arrest warrant has been issued against a third man, also suspected of being a Lone Wolf bikie, in New South Wales. This man, Garry Brush, 31, attended the funeral of Shane Ross’s mother five weeks before his execution-style death.

The bulletin may also reveal that Brush was at Mr. Ross’ funeral, where he was seated among friends of the bikie turned businessman in Monstr clothing.

Singh claims to be the national president of the outlaw biker gang Lone Wolf on his social media pages, according to police.

Mr. Ross and his business partner Monstr Clothing, Mr. Martin, were killed in October of last year at Martin Sheils Park, Burleigh Heads. Ross was shot dead in the park, while Martin was injured while trying to flee, police said.

Shane Ross’s father, Les, said Bulletin yesterday he was smashed to hear allegations that a “friend” of his son may have been involved in his murder.

“I am a broken companion,” he said. “One of the guys the police think he did was actually at the funeral of my wife and Shane. He was supposed to be a friend of my son.

“He was shaking everyone’s hand at my son’s funeral. Some of my son’s friends are so grumpy, how could you think of something like that? I was even shocked.

“He was at my wife’s funeral and knew how upset my son was. Shane was still crying for his mother. Five weeks later, the police (claim) that he was on the murder.

“I can’t believe it. One of Shane’s comrades called me and said he was sitting right next to the guy.

“The police asked me if I knew all the boys at Sharon’s funeral. About 10 minutes later, my daughter came out of her room and she had her mother’s signature book for the funeral and her name was there. ”

Ross said he was unsure of the other men who may have been involved in the death of his son.

“I don’t know the other two, but Shane was in the Lone Wolf group years ago. I may even know them, but I’m not sure.

“I feel a lot easier now that there have been arrests, but I just can’t believe anyone who made it look like he was a friend of Shane’s would have been involved.

“He was actually at church, at the funeral.”

Superintendent Detective Brendan Smith told a news conference yesterday that police have alleged that the Shane Ross murder was planned and that Mr. Martin may have been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

“We will allege that this was clearly a vicious and premeditated crime, where members of the outlaw motorcycle gang, the Lone Wolf, organized a meeting with the victims and shot them down,” said said Supt. Smith.

“We can show that they did a test, for better terminology, around what they were going to do.

“These people were so-called friends of the victims and to do this, it clearly shows the wickedness of these gangs and no matter who you are, if it suits their greed, or whatever the reason, they will do n anything to anyone.

“They (the family) were upset, these people were known to the victims, in some ways, they were family friends.”

Superintendent Smith said police are still trying to find a reason for the alleged murders.

“No, we don’t. One of the challenges right now is finding the pattern, there are a number of different patterns we are looking at.

“The two men have a history with certain people known for their violence, we also know that they probably owed money to other people and we believe that Mr. Martin was probably the victim of being in the wrong place at bad time.

“We are now looking at other people in relation to their relationship to the crime, before and after the offense.”

During their brief court appearance yesterday, Singh and Miller both kissed supporters in the courtroom as they returned to the security house.

Singh’s lawyer Danielle Heable of Dib & Associates did not request bail.

Miller’s lawyer Jason Grant of Grant Lawyers also did not request bail.

A brief evidence was requested for the questions.

Police prosecutor Daniel McShane said the file included “significant telephone interceptions” and that it was a “complex investigation” with an operation that “spanned a few months”.

The men were placed in pre-trial detention and the cases were adjourned until June 18.
