The county can be reopened for face-to-face instruction at least two weeks, or when entering the red tier on September 14th.
Stacy Harold had to close her whirlwind blow dry lounge in downtown Napa along the Napa River on July 13, when Napa County was on the state’s watch list. The new state system allowed her to resume with safety restrictions.
“The word Friday came out,” Harold said in a telephone interview Tuesday. “We spent most of the weekend disinfecting, cleaning and preparing.”
Unlike some companies, hairdressers and barbers can operate indoors in one of four colors. That is, even if Napa County goes down to a purple rating, Harold can remain open.
“It’s very encouraging,” she said.
Indoor retailers can leave any color open. The difference is that purple limits the capacity to 25% and red limits it to 50%, while orange and yellow allow maximum capacity.
Two things are important to a county’s rating. The number of new cases and the number of positive tests per 100,000 people per day, both using an average of 7 days.
