Covid Crisis: Wolverhampton Local Lockdown Starts Next Week
Starting Tuesday, the city will be under the same regulations as Sandwell, Birmingham and Solihull. This means that you are not allowed to meet people in your home or garden who do not belong to your household or who do not support the bubble.
The new restrictions include those who are enforced by the West Midlands Police and refuse to work with officers who violate the rules and are fined £ 100.
Parliamentary bosses and MPs have urged people to voluntarily take action earlier this week to stop the city’s surge in incidents.

“Currently, that number is skyrocketing and we are doing everything we can to keep our schools open and help us run our business.
“People need to understand that if these new measures don’t work, they will end up with the restrictions they have in the northeast, and perhaps even return to what we were at the beginning of the year.
“If we are closed again, it will be devastating to the city. No one wants to be in that position, but if we don’t take action now, it will be us. It’s a place that will be. ”
Pat McFadden, Labor MP at Wolverhampton Southeast, said: “In Wolverhampton, infection rates have skyrocketed in the last two weeks, and we’ve seen for days that these restrictions are imminent.
“I know the public is already experiencing a lot, but I encourage everyone to take this seriously and comply with these new restrictions. In this latest case. We need to work together to deal with the increase.
“Of course, the government also has to do its part by keeping track of the exam status, without which the job would be very difficult.”
Councilor Ian Brookfield, leader of the Wolverhampton Council, said Foreign Minister initially wanted to enforce the same restrictions that are currently being enforced in the northeast.
“At this point, we don’t think we need additional measures, including a curfew for pubs, so we have expressed opposition to this,” he said.
The city had 23 new cases on September 10, 22 cases each over the next two days, and 18 new cases on September 13.

In the seven days leading up to September 15, Walsall had 87 cases per 100,000, with 76 cases (23.7) in Dudley.
Sandwell, which entered the local lockdown this week, has 153 cases, 46.7 per 100,000 people.
