Ahok among the candidates for the new CEO of Capital City
Jakarta. Former Jakarta governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama is one of four candidates to head the special agency of the capital's authority yet to be built in the east of Kalimantan, President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo said on Monday.

His first collaboration with Jokowi took place in 2012, when he became a running mate in the elections of the governor of Jakarta. Ahok became governor of Jakarta by default after Jokowi ran for president in 2014 and won.

Capital relocation
Jokowi has announced plans to transfer the capital of Jakarta to the new city of East Kalimantan by 2024.
The authority's agency will be in charge of the building and investment permits, as well as the relocation process from Jakarta.
The government is currently preparing a new capital bill which will be tabled in the House later this month.
The new capital will include parts of the districts of North Penajam Paser and Kutai Kartanegara, occupying an area of 256,000 hectares.
