Latest updates of West Hollywood coronavirus: 56 confirmed cases

WEST HOLLYWOOD, California – Officials have confirmed that 3,011 people in Los Angeles County have been infected with the coronavirus and 54 have died.

Ten of the deaths were first reported on Tuesday. They included a Los Angeles healthcare worker and four people under the age of 65. On Tuesday, 548 new cases of the virus were also confirmed.

One of the county’s concerns is the confirmation of coronavirus outbreaks in 11 different nursing homes. Seven more homes are also reporting at least one case of the virus. The coronavirus is particularly dangerous for patients over 60 years of age. Of the patients infected with the virus on Tuesday, 553 were over the age of 65 and 594 people had to be hospitalized.

The ongoing epidemic has led local leaders to issue public security orders prohibiting private or public gatherings. Beaches and hiking trails were also closed, as were all businesses deemed non-essential during the crisis. To slow the spread of the disease, people are also advised to stay at home, unless they are leaving to buy basic necessities, and they are advised to practice social distance by keeping a safe distance of about six feet between them and everyone.

There is currently no vaccine to prevent 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The best way to prevent the disease is to avoid being exposed to this virus. However, as a reminder, the CDC still recommends daily preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, including:

• Stay home when you are sick.
• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces with a spray bottle or regular household cleaning cloth.
• Follow the CDC’s recommendations for the use of a face mask.
  • The CDC does not recommend that people who wear a full face mask protect themselves from respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19.
  • Face masks should be used by people with symptoms of COVID-19 to help prevent the spread of the disease to others. The use of face masks is also crucial for health workers and people caring for someone in a close environment (at home or in a health facility).
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after using the toilet; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.
  • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol. Always wash your hands with soap and water if your hands are visibly dirty.
