COVID-19 Update: New cases equal recovery.Batavia BOCES campus student test positive | Top story
BATAVIA — The number of new positive cases for COVID-19 was the same as the number of new recovery reported Friday by the county health departments in the GLOW region of the four counties.
Since the pandemic in March, a total of 1,117 new cases have occurred in the Genecy, Livingstone, Orleans, and Wyoming counties. The number of people who have recovered from the virus has increased by 7 from Thursday to 807.
There are 73 active cases in 4 counties.
Also on Friday, the Genesee and Orleans County Health Departments were able to update Genesee County data after resolving a technical glitch that resulted in a complete data report since October 9. During that period, there were a total of 20 recovery in Genesee County. The number of recoveries was in the data that the county could not update.

Genesee County did not report any new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Friday update, leaving the county’s total number of cases at 345.

The health department was notified by a student on the Batavia BOCES campus that the COVID-19 test was positive. The individual is placed in quarantine and remains until full recovery.
