BATAVIA — The number of new positive cases for COVID-19 was the same as the number of new recovery reported Friday by the county health departments in the GLOW region of the four counties.

Since the pandemic in March, a total of 1,117 new cases have occurred in the Genecy, Livingstone, Orleans, and Wyoming counties. The number of people who have recovered from the virus has increased by 7 from Thursday to 807.

There are 73 active cases in 4 counties.

Also on Friday, the Genesee and Orleans County Health Departments were able to update Genesee County data after resolving a technical glitch that resulted in a complete data report since October 9. During that period, there were a total of 20 recovery in Genesee County. The number of recoveries was in the data that the county could not update.

The number of new cases reported by Genesee County since 9 October was 9.

Genesee County did not report any new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Friday update, leaving the county’s total number of cases at 345.

On Friday, there were two new recovery, bringing the total recovery to 266. Twenty-five new individuals are undergoing preventive quarantine for travel from restricted states.

The data on recovery and active cases has only been updated since October 9th.

There are 17 community activity cases under forced quarantine, 74 under forced community quarantine, and 119 under preventive community quarantine.

There were 5 deaths due to the virus.

Genesee County has a total of 34,789 virus tests. The results included a negative test with an infection rate of 34,444 out of the 0.99 percent tested.

Orleans County reported one new COVID-19 case on Friday, bringing the total to 344, officials said.

The new case is from Shelby, an individual under the age of 20 who had been quarantined before a positive test.

The health department was notified by a student on the Batavia BOCES campus that the COVID-19 test was positive. The individual is placed in quarantine and remains until full recovery. Contact tracing is in progress. Individuals identified by the health department as close contacts are contacted and / or contacted and placed under compulsory quarantine.

The number of collectors increased by two to 164. There are three new people in preventive quarantine due to travel from restricted states.

Cases were from the northwestern quadrant, which included Attica, Bennington, Orangeville, and Sheldon, and the northeastern quadrant, which included Cobington, Middleberry, Perry, and Warsaw. Two were under the age of 20 and one was in their 60s.

As of Friday, the county had 15 active cases under forced quarantine, 70 were forced quarantine, and 46 were preventive quarantine after an out-of-state trip.

One new recovery was reported, bringing the county to a total of 146 people. A total of 5 people died in the county.

A total of 22,714 tests were conducted with 22,548 negative results. The infection rate of those tested is 0.73 percent.

The Livingston County Public Health Service reported three new COVID-19 cases on Friday, bringing the county to a total of 262.

The number of recoveries reported was 2, and the number of counties increased to 231. Both cases recovered were in Genesio.

Livingston County has 23 active cases, the most common of the four Glow County.

There are 23 active cases in Livingston County. These include Geneseo 14 and are down two from Thursday. There are also three active cases in Dansville and Lima, two in Avon and one in Livonia.

The county has killed eight people due to COVID-19.

SUNY Geneseo reported 15 active cases within the university community as of Thursday at 4 pm. According to the university’s COVID-19 dashboard, the university also reported that 87 students were quarantined with an increase of 10.

Individuals under quarantine may have been in close contact with positive individuals and have been quarantined to keep them away from others until the COVID-19 decision is positive or negative.

Since September 1, 15 university cases have recovered.

The County Health Department has previously advised that the data on the COVID-19 tracking map may not match the data for the local university. The county reports positive cases based on where the student lives. If a student returns to quarantine outside Livingstone County, it will be counted as a positive case in that county, but will be reflected in the SUNY Geneseo data. If a student remains in Livingston County, it counts as a Livingston County case and is included in the community in which the student lives.

Livingston County has conducted more than 30,200 tests on COVID-19 among its residents. According to the county’s COVID-19 tracking map, there were 30,018 negative results out of 30,280 tests. As a result, the infection rate of the tested individuals was 0.87%.
