Coronavirus: Global cases confirmed exceed one million – BBC News

More than one million coronavirus cases have been registered worldwide, according to the latest figures from Johns Hopkins University. It is another world with the spreading pandemic.

Nearly 53,000 people have been killed and more than 210,000 have been recovered, according to US university figures.

Most cases are in the US, and more than 1,000 died there on the last day.

The disease, Covid-19, first emerged in central China three months ago.

Although a million cases have been confirmed since Johns Hopkins was preserved, the actual number is believed to be much higher.

It took a month and a half to register the first 100,000 cases. They reached a million a week after doubling their cases.

Almost a quarter of cases are registered in the United States, and about half of them are in Europe.

The pandemic is taking a turn for the worse: over 6.6 million Americans in the previous week claimed unemployment benefit.
