59 cases of Covid-19 related to flight to Ireland
Studies have shown that this outbreak “indicates an infection in flight.”
A new study states that the Covid-19 infection during the flight to Ireland may have led to 59 viruses.
A dissertation written and published by the Irish Public Health Service Euro surveillance, 13 passengers were found to be positive between 2 and 17 days after the flight.
The flight in question was a long-haul flight from the Middle East to Ireland during the summer, and the infection occurred despite its low in-flight occupancy.
Thirteen people on board were later diagnosed with the coronavirus.
Studies show that groups of passengers who tested positive were not sitting close to each other, and most passengers wore masks.
The 7.5-hour flight is believed to have landed at Dublin Airport in June, but the survey did not reveal the airline or departure point.
