Imran Khan calls for effective enforcement of decisions
ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday stressed the need to make unremitting efforts for effective enforcement of decisions through the National Command and Operations Center to contain the COVID-19 epidemic across the country.
He expressed these views during a visit to the National Command and the COVID-19 Operations Center in Islamabad on Friday. The Prime Minister appreciated the creation of the National Command and Operations Center and the progress made so far.
He reiterated that there should be no compromise on the availability of essential food items and the sustainability of supply lines across the country. Imran Khan stressed the need to prioritize efforts and implement NCOC decisions through regular and timely meetings under the leadership of Federal Minister Asad Umer. He warned that hoarders and smugglers will make an example of this.
Earlier, the Prime Minister was briefed by Federal Minister Asad Umer and the NCOC Director General of Operations and Planning, Maj. Gen. Asif Mehmood Goraya, of the latest fatal disease situation, of actions taken to date. now and steps to take for containment efforts.

She said that on the Prime Minister’s instructions, the Ministry of Information and DG ISPR would inform the media about the situation of coronaviruses. She said a strategy will be developed to coordinate with the media.
Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan also said that the federal and provincial governments are working together to protect the nation from the COVID-19 pandemic. She said that the National Command and Control Center for COVID-19 will act as a nerve center against the pandemic.
