Pakistani Prime Minister Khan: Kashmir issue “cannot continue to boil” – BBC News
Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has told the BBC that with the disputed territory of Kashmir, peace with India would be “tremendous” for the wider region. Mr Khan, a former cricketer who became a leader eight months ago, said residents of nuclear-powered weapons could only resolve the talks. The comments come as India prepares to vote in the general election, a few weeks after Kashmir’s violence erupted. A suicide attack on Indian forces led to cross-border airstrikes. Asked what message he wants to send to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his country, Mr Khan told the BBC’s John Simpson that the Kashmir issue needs to be “resolved” and “cannot continue to boil as it is”.
