Protests in Thailand: more than 40 people injured in clashes in Bangkok – BBC News
At least 41 people were injured after protesters and police stormed the Thai capital, Bangkok. Demonstrators tried to reach parliament on Tuesday, and lawmakers were debating whether there could be changes to the constitution. They threw smoke bombs and paint bags at the police, who took them with a water cannon and a tear gas solution. The proposed constitutional changes have been one of the key demands of the month-long protest movement. These include the reform of the monarchy and the removal of Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha, a former general who took power in a 2014 coup. However, the BBC’s Jonathan Head said many activists were worried that parliament would reject most of their demands – especially those calling for the reform of the monarchy. Please subscribe HERE .
