‘Turkey will use all its resources to strengthen its economy’
ANKARA
Turkey will use all its resources to develop the country and strengthen its economy, the country’s president said on Thursday.
Speaking at the meeting with the Assembly of Turkish Exporters (TIM) in the capital Ankara, Recep Tayyip Erdogan put special emphasis on increasing production which will lead to increased employment and exports.
The president said Turkey has advanced infrastructure and has gained a place in the new world order thanks to its political, diplomatic, economic and military power.
On the recent change in managers of the economy in the country, Erdogan said the coronavirus pandemic, along with regional developments, had led them to introduce more determined policies.
Turkey has replaced its central bank governor in recent days, appointed a new finance minister and raised the key interest rate by 475 basis points to 15%.
“By strengthening democracy, rights and freedoms and the law, we will increase investments, develop our economy and increase employment,” he said, claiming that Turkey has removed barriers for domestic and international investors. .
Regarding the government’s efforts against COVID-19, Erdogan said Turkey had handled it much better than many developed countries.

Meanwhile, the exporters body announced its roadmap and action plan, as well as its expectations to increase Turkish exports.
After a meeting with President Erdogan, Ismail Gulle, the head of TIM, called for continued support and resources to institutions that provide finance to exporters like the Export Credit Bank of Turkey.
It is vital to revive the economy, he said in a statement, adding that an efficient and competitive logistics network is also necessary.
He also called for urgent investments in digital infrastructure and automation systems.
