Coronavirus: Russia closes eastern border with China – BBC News

The death toll from the first coronavirus has risen to 170 and the confirmed case in Tibet means that it has reached all regions of the Chinese mainland.

Chinese health authorities said that since January 29, 7,711 cases have been confirmed in the country.

Infections have spread to at least 15 other countries.

The World Health Organization (WHO) will meet again on Thursday to examine whether the virus is a global health emergency.

“The progress of the virus over the past few days, especially in some countries, is a major concern for human transmission,” WHO CEO Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Wednesday.
