Coronavirus: WHO heads calls for an end to politicization virus – BBC News
The head of the World Health Organization (WHO) has called for unity, as the agency is under constant fire from US President Donald Trump.
Speaking on Wednesday, CEO Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus defended the work of WHO and called for the politicization of Covid-19 to end.
The Ethiopian also said he had received death threats and suffered racist abuse.
Trump said he would consider ending funding for the UN agency.
He accused WHO of being “very China-centric” and said they were “really peeling”.
Dr Tedros declined comment, pointing out: “We are close to all countries, we are color blind.”

Senator Bernie Sanders has completed his presidential campaign, and has made clear that former Vice President Joe Biden is a Democratic party candidate.
Sanders, 78, told supporters on Wednesday that he had not seen enough votes to get the nomination.
A former runner-up, the Vermont senator found great success with young voters, but in recent weeks he has been chasing Mr. Biden.
Health and income inequality helped to make it a key election issue.
Among the most left-wing candidates in this year’s election cycle, self-described “democratic socialist” campaign health care for all, including a free public university, raising taxes on the wealthy and raising the minimum wage.
The Sanders Independent had previously sought a Democratic presidential nomination, losing in 2016 to Hillary Clinton.
