Arizona couldn’t get the full amount of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine next week
According to the Arizona Department of Health (ADHS), Arizona received only about 60% of the expected Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine dose during the week of December 20th.
In a statement, ADHS stated that Arizona was supposed to receive 70,200 doses of Pfizer vaccine, but could only order 41,925 doses.
ADHS contacted the CDC about a “explanation of the difference,” but said it hadn’t responded yet.
For the Moderna vaccine, the state states that Arizona has been allocated 119,400 doses and placed orders.

According to ADHS, the Moderna vaccine will arrive between Monday, December 21st and Wednesday, December 23rd.
Maricopa County is expected to receive 18,500 Moderna doses, and Pima County will receive 17,000 doses on the first delivery.
ADHS also states that the CDC Long-Term Care Facility / Pharmacy Partnership has been assigned 37,300 Moderna doses. Dosages will be available in the week of December 20th, and vaccination of facility residents and staff will begin in the week of December 27th.
