Covid-19: Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine approved for use in the UK – BBC News
The Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine has been approved for use in the UK, and the first doses will be given on Monday amid an increase in coronaviruses. The UK has promised 100 million doses – enough to inject 50 million people. This would cover the entire population combined with the full demand of the Pfizer-BioNTech jab, Health Secretary Matt Hancock said. There are millions of people in England who are expected to face the four toughest cuts. Vaccination centers will begin inviting patients to come from next week. Priority groups for vaccination have been identified, starting with initial care residents, those over 80, and health and care workers. Finally, young people over the age of 50 and young adults with health conditions will be offered a jab in the first phase of the deployment – more than 25 million people in total. About two million patients a week are expected to be vaccinated with the two soon-to-be-approved vaccines. Please subscribe HERE .
