Coronavirus: Hundreds of British Tenerife Hotels – BBC News

Hundreds of Tenerife vacations, including more than 160 in the UK, will be isolated at the hotel until March 10, with four Italian guests positive with coronavirus. The Foreign Office said one hundred of them contacted people, providing advice and assistance. Some British guests have expressed frustration that they have no intention of returning to the UK.

For the first time since the outbreak, there are more new coronavirus cases outside of Txona. Dozens of countries are affected – several, including Brazil, Norway and Pakistan, have confirmed the first cases – and Germany is on the verge of an epidemic. In the UK, Public Health England says there is increasing evidence for coronavirus to help improve the spread of the virus. To date, more than seven thousand people in the UK have been tested for the virus, and thirteen have been positive for the disease.
