QUETTA: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday filed a lawsuit against seven people, including a coal company owner and officials in the minerals department of Balochistan province, for causing losses of up to millions Rupees to the Ministry of Finance, reported ARY NEWS.
According to a spokesperson for the NAB, officials and employees of the Baluchistan Province Department of Mines and Minerals Development have been found involved in multimillion-dollar corruption.
He said the responsibility court had issued notices to the accused, including deputy director Mohammad Zaman, deputy director Aizaz Khan and Imtiaz Hussain.
"The owner of the company, with the support of corrupt officials, extracted coal from a mine without asking for a lease and sold it on the market, causing a loss of millions of rupees ", He said, adding that one of the main accused in this case was an official of the Federal Revenue Office (FBR) who had entered into illegal agreements with the coal company.
Earlier today, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) summoned government spokesman for the Punjab, Shaukat Basra, on March 6 in assets beyond known sources of income.

The NAB notified Shaukat Basra and ordered him to appear before the office of the NAB Multan to investigate against him the accumulation of assets beyond known sources of income.
Basra was instructed to report to the NAB Multan office on March 6.
In December 2018, Basra called Prime Minister Imran Khan and announced his accession to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) by leaving the PPP.
