The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported a 4.3-magnitude earthquake in the United States near Eureka, Humboldt County, California, just 8 minutes ago. The earthquake struck late Saturday night, January 16, 2021 at 10:25 PM local time at a very shallow depth of 2.7 miles. The exact size, focus and depth of an earthquake may be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review the data and refine their calculations, or when other agencies release their report.
