UK Immigration: No visas for low-skilled workers, Government says – BBC News

Low-skilled workers would not get visas under the government’s post-Brexit immigration plans.

It calls on employers to rely on Europe for “cheap labor” and to invest in retaining staff and developing automation technology.

The Home Office said EU and non-EU nationals coming to the UK would be treated the same on December 31, following the end of free movement in the EU.

Labor said the “hostile environment” would make it difficult to attract staff.

Home Secretary Priti Patel said the BBC breakfast wanted the government to “support people with the right talent” and “reduce the level of people with low skills in the UK”.
