Coronavirus Egypt: The doctor in charge has a positive – BBC News

 



Doctors battling coronavirus in Egypt have told the BBC they are concerned about the lack of protective equipment and that concerns are not being taken seriously enough.

However, the government says supplies are inadequate, and a doctor in the forties said doctors who were there were able to secure the masks too quickly.

As of Wednesday, the most populous countries in the Middle East saw 178 deaths from the virus. The World Health Organization says that about 13% of those infected in Egypt are health care workers.

The country has a curious nightlife, and schools, universities and mosques are closed.
