U.S. Capitol security officials expelled as a result of the Jan. 6 attack on Congress have blamed intelligence failures for the offense. Speaking before a Senate committee, officials said the incidents came “prepared for war” with weapons, radios and climbing equipment. Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund said he was prepared for the protest, not “a coordinated military attack.” Four people were killed after pro-Trump protesters attacked the U.S. Capitol.
