The US bank BLOOMINGTON will assume the deposit and credit card accounts of the State Farm Bank, the bank and the insurer announced Thursday. State Farm agents will be able to "introduce" deposit products to US banks and co-branded credit cards to State Farm customers.

The American bank is the fifth largest commercial bank in the country. State Farm is the largest P&C insurance provider in the Americas.
The alliance is part of a broader State Farm exit strategy from banking. In addition to assuming the existing State Farm Banks deposit and credit card accounts, the two companies plan to work together to provide State Farm customers with access to auto loans and business banking products, the companies said in a joint press release.
