The ball gown gift will take place next weekend 2020

The butterfly effect, an annual ball gown gift, will take place next weekend. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 14 at the Northgate Mall, free dresses will be provided to any high school student with valid ID or a recent transcript. No registration is required.
There will be a red carpet track, free photos with the "magic mirror", gifts and vendors linked to the ball.
The event is organized by New Day Community Outreach, a non-profit organization founded in Lafayette in 2017. In its first year, the organization took over what had been known for a decade as Lafayette's Cinderella Project and renamed it The Butterfly Effect.
To date, the event has provided dresses for hundreds of walkers.
Dresses for the event are always accepted. Give new life to Mardi Gras prom dresses and give an outfit.
