A 3.5-magnitude earthquake occurred in and around Angol on Saturday evening, causing panic among the people.

Residents of Angoll, Shindepada, Kanha, and Talcher experienced mild shaking as windows vibrated. They immediately rushed out of their homes. However, no damage was reported.

It is worth noting that an earthquake of low intensity rocked Angoll and Talcher on August 27, 2019. The frequent tremors in and around Angoll Talcher mines area became a source of concern among the people. The surrounding Precambrian Shield ranges within the state of Odisha.
