Ford Motor Company (F): The automaker’s shares are weaker after Ford warned that supply chain bottlenecks would slash its third-quarter bottom line. The automaker expects adjusted operating income for the third quarter to be between $1.4 billion and $1.7 billion. Ford said it expects to have between 40,000 and 45,000 vehicles in stock by the end of the third quarter, missing some parts currently in short supply. Ford’s stock has fallen more than 31% this year.
Nikola Company (NKLA): Shares of Nikola are higher in premarket trading after truck makers’ top executive Mark Russell testified that he learned that the company’s first electric truck had no gas turbine or fuel cell after joining the company. He said Nikola founder Trevor Milton had extraordinary control over the company. Milton pleaded not guilty to securities fraud and wire fraud charges two years after resigning from the company. Nikola admitted no wrongdoing last year when he paid $125 million to settle Securities and Exchange Commission claims.
Nikola shares have fallen 53% this year.
Modern, Inc. (mRNA): Moderna shares are weaker in premarket trading after Chairman Joe Biden remarked that the the pandemic is over. In an interview with 60 Minutes” that aired on Sunday, Biden hinted that the worst of the pandemic was behind the country. “We still have a problem with COVID,” he said. , but the pandemic is over. Moderna stock has fallen 49% this year.
Beyond Meat, Inc. (BYND): Beyond Meat’s shares are trending after reports the chief operating officer was arrested on Saturday on allegations he bit off a man’s nose during a confrontation. Doug Ramsey was arrested for terrorism threats and third-degree assault, court records To display. According to court records, Ramsey was released on Sunday on $11,085 bail. A spokesperson did not respond when asked if Ramsey was still with the company.
The arrest is the latest blow to the company, which has cut its revenue forecast for the year and plans to cut its workforce by 4%.
