Ulta Beauty Closes Vineland Location, Opens 5 More Stores In New Jersey

Ulta Beauty will permanently close its Vineland store, a spokesperson for the company told NJ Advance Media on Thursday.

The store is part of the Cumberland Mall at 3849 South Delsea Dr., next to Dicks Sporting Goods. An official closing date has not yet been announced.

Nationwide, Ulta will close 19 stores before the end of the year. Ulta said the decision was made after assessing its existing store portfolio, according to a declaration. Store workers will be reassigned to other locations, the statement said.

The Ulta spokeswoman also told NJ Advance Media that the company plans to open stores in five New Jersey cities: Paramus, Toms River, East Rutherford, Chester and Wayne.

Specific details, such as timing and locations, will be announced closer to the big openings, the spokesperson said.

There is 39 Ulta Beauty stores in New Jersey. All stores appear to have reopened after being temporarily closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, with the exception of the Vineland location, which will reopen on July 27 before finally closing, according to the Ultas website.

It has been a tough few months for the physical retail industry, which was already struggling before the pandemic hit.
