London Stock Exchange: Microsoft outage: London Stock Exchange joins banks, airlines in wave of service disruptions
During the Asian trading session, LSEG said its news services were experiencing a global technical issue that was preventing news from being published on its platform.
LSEG said the group's other services, including the London Stock Exchange, continued to operate as normal.
Separately, the company said it was experiencing technical issues while publishing its spot and forward prices for currencies at 0600 GMT.
“We are currently investigating this situation and will provide further information as soon as possible,” LSEG said in a message to clients seen by Reuters. As trading resumed in London, it was clear that the outage was causing disruption across the financial sector. “My goodness, this is the mother of all outages,” said one London-based trader. The outage on LSEG’s news and data platform came as a major IT outage affected businesses around the world.
LSEG was not immediately available for comment when contacted by Reuters in London.
