Coranavirus Case in Ocean County: Chief Barnegat Update

OCEAN COUNTY, NJ – Of the 191,813 COVID-19 tests done across the state, 105,523 people tested positive. Notably, this number shows a slightly lower percentage of positive test results than the total number. For the first time, it is less than 44%, although to a small extent.

Ocean County now has 5,698 confirmed cases of coronavirus. Barnegat has only two new cases for a total of 176. Ocean Township (Waretown) has seen no increase in positive results and remains at only 32. Lacey has four more cases and Stafford is up one.

The Ocean County Health Department has reported an additional death to Barnegat. It appears that this person was a resident of the Barnegat Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. It is not known if there have been other deaths in Waretown.
