(Reuters) – Tesla Inc (TSLA.O) is recalling workers at its San Francisco Bay Area vehicle assembly plant next week, Bloomberg News reported on Saturday.
Tesla suspended production at its Fremont, California plant on March 24. The company previously announced plans to resume normal operations on May 4, one day after the Bay Area on-site shelter order was lifted.
However, the mayor of San Francisco London Breed said on Friday that the Bay Area home stay order is likely to be extended beyond the current May 3 expiration date, according to Los Angeles. Times.
Tesla supervisors told some California plant painting and stamping employees to show up at the facility on April 29, according to the Bloomberg report here said. They also asked workers to respond and say if they plan to show up, the report added.
The company did not respond to Reuters’ request for comment.
