RTE viewers call Tommy Tiernan brilliant as he asks Irish actor Colm Meaney if he felt stupid on Star Trek The Irish Sun

RTE viewers were all hysterical when Tommy Tiernan asked his guest actor Colm Meaney if he felt stupid on the set of Star Trek.

The Irish actor was on The Tommy Tiernan Show and they were chatting about his time in the hit TV show.

During the interview, Tommy asked Colm if he had ever felt stupid during the filming of the show.

Colm jokingly replied, "Have you ever felt stupid with this hat ?!"

However, he later explained that he wondered if the actors on a science fiction TV show were ever wrong when they talked about futuristic technology.

Colm said that he often had a hard time learning his lines and that it could be difficult to learn the technical language of the show.

Fans of the series found this absolutely hilarious as they say he would be the only presenter who can afford to ask such a question.

Twitter user Padraig said: "Only Tommy would get by asking a guest if he felt stupid at his job !!"

Damien commented, "Do you ever feel stupid in Star Trek. Brilliant, just what I ask. Hahaha."

Davi said, "Have you ever felt stupid in Star Trek? Classic Tommy."

During the show, Colm also talked about his father on the show and said that "all of the acting played confused him."

The actor explained that his father hated bad language and that many of his films at the time were full of profanity.

Colm added: "So he was sort of ashamed of it and ashamed that I was there.

"I don't think he even looked at them."

Last week, fans congratulated the presenter on his show.

Singer Bressie took Twitter after the show last week to congratulate the RTE star.

Bressie said, "I can't understand how good #TommyTiernanShow is.

"It's almost like he had invented his own kind of interview style. Just first class."
