The Elimination Chamber kick-off featured the first action of the evening when the Viking Raiders faced Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder.

Erik and Ivar dominated the first part of the game, Hawkins and Ryder being offended in the middle of the third. After a hot tag, Ivar went wild to turn things around in favor of his team.

Ryder accidentally hit his paver on Hawkins to give the Viking Raiders the opportunity to hit the Viking experience for the pin and the win.

Analysis

The Viking Raiders have shortened their reign in favor of history with Seth Rollins, and the Hawkins and Ryder team has barely been on TV recently, so this combo came out of nowhere.

The crowd was more behind Erik and Ivar, but since the two teams are made up of babyfaces, this did not massively encourage one team compared to the other.

It was a pretty standard opening fight. There was no story, but the fight was decent. This put the crowd in the right mood for the rest of the evening.
