Actor Madhavi Gogate dies; his “Anupamaa” co-stars are “shocked and numb”

Actor Madhavi Gogate died in Mumbai on Sunday. She reportedly died of complications after being diagnosed with COVID-19. She was 58 years old.

The artist was known for her work in the popular series Anupamaa. Besides the show, she has also featured in many Marathi films. His show co-stars like Rupali Ganguly, Mehul Nisar and Alpana Buh paid tribute to Gogate on Instagram.

Madhavi, lately, has been known for her role as Kanta Joshi in the series. The character is the mother of the protagonist Anupamaa.

Rupali Ganguly, who is playing the lead role, dropped a photo with Gogate and captioned it, “So many unsaid.” “Sadgati Madhaviji,” she wrote with clasped hand emojis.

According to reports, Gogate had tested positive for COVID-19 a few days ago. She reportedly breathed her last at Seven Hills Hospital in suburban Mumbai on Sunday afternoon.

Mehul Nisar, who played her son Bhavesh Joshi in the series, was “shocked” and “numb”. He couldn’t believe she was gone.

Another cast member, Alpana Buch, was heartbroken by the news. The actor, who plays the character of Leela Shah aka Baa, wrote: “Madhaviji, it’s not done.” She added that an actor cannot “come out before the end of the scene”.

She shared that she will be missed and highlighted her “cute smile, sweet voice and humor”.

Many other members of the TV fraternity like Nilu Kohli paid tribute to the actor.
