Actor and comedian Bob Saget will be buried this Friday
(CNN) — Actor and comedian Bob Saget, who died Sunday at the age of 65, will be buried later Friday, a source close to the Saget family told CNN.
The private service and interment of close family and friends will be held at Mt. Sinai Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles. A public memorial will be held at a later date which has yet to be decided, the source said.
Saget was found dead in a hotel room Sunday at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes, according to the sheriff’s office.
Saget was in Florida as part of his comedy tour. According to tour dates posted on his Twitter account, he performed Saturday night in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
The comedian and actor was best known to audiences as Danny Tanner on the sitcom “Full House.”
Saget, although known on stage and among friends for his crude humor, first brought public attention to family programming. He played the widowed father of three daughters on ABC’s “Full House” and later as the host of ABC’s music video show “America’s Funniest Home Videos.”
The comedy, which starred Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin and twins Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen in one role, ran for eight seasons. The series carried such strong nostalgia that Netflix picked up a spin-off in 2016, “Fuller House,” starring Bure but with frequent appearances from original stars including Saget, Dave Coulier and John Stamos. It ran for five seasons, ending in 2020.
