Euphoria Season 2 was all Javon Walton once said MTV it would be: intense, devastating and extremely shocking. This applies especially to the final, “All my life my heart has yearned for something I can’t name”, which included the sudden death of his character, Ashtray. Now Walton talks about Ashtray leaving in this way and his hopes for the next season of Euphoria. Find out what happened to him and Walton’s reaction below.
“Euphoria” killed Ashtray in the Season 2 finale
In the episode, released Feb. 27, Custer (Tyler Chase) tried to catch Fezco (Angus Cloud) on a hook by admitting what happened to Mouse. Looking at his body language, Ashtray sensed something was wrong with Custer and stabbed him in the neck. Fez, knowing the police would be on their way, decided to take responsibility for the murder, but Ashtray wouldn’t let him. Instead, he locked himself in their bathroom with his weapons and waited for the police to arrive.
Fes was still trying to get him out when SWAT broke down the front door. Ashtray began shooting through the door, resulting in an exchange of gunfire.
When the bathroom became silent, an officer came in to check the ashtray, only for him to come out and kill the officer with his shotgun. Just then, the red dot of a sniper rifle appeared on Ashtray’s chest, rising to her head until the sound of a gunshot rang out.

Javon Walton’s reaction to Ashtray’s death in “Euphoria”
Ashtray’s death had Euphoria emotional fans everywhere. His name was even still trending on Twitter on the morning of February 28 as people continued to express their shock and grief over what had happened to him.
Now Walton has reacted to Ashtray’s fate. Share a photo on instagram of his character in his final moments, Walton wrote “4L”which means “for life”.
He also spoke to Squire on the final and his hopes for Euphoria Season 3. With her character’s death seemingly sealed, Walton hopes Ashtray survives and escapes. He also wants Fez and Ashtray to reunite once Fez is released from prison, assuming he has been taken into custody.
I feel like [Fez is] go outside [of jail] no matter what, Walton said. I don’t know how, but I have a feeling he’s definitely going to be able to get out one way or another. And Ash will definitely find a way to get back to him because he’s the person he cares about the most. That’s what I would like to happen is for Ash and Fez to get together. People love the Ash and Fez duo. Fesh train!
Walton went on to say that if Ashtray was really gone, it would be hard for him to watch future episodes of Euphoria. But at the same time, he is also looking forward to other projects, including a role in the next season of The Umbrella Academy on Netflix.
