Lady Gaga just had a bug named after her:

To date, singer Lady Gaga has won 11 Grammys and an award for best performance: today, she can add another distinction to her trophy room, she has a bug that bears her name.

Graduate student Brendan Morris just named a newly discovered insect after the pop princess. The bug, which is a new species of leafhopper, has a wacky appearance, much like the singer herself.

If there is going to be a Lady Gaga bug, it will be a leafhopper, because they have these crazy horns, they have this wacky fashion sense about them, said Morris.

They are unlike anything you've seen before.

Morris is studying entomology and named the bug Kaikaia gaga for the purpose of educating the world about the beauty of leafhoppers insects.

According to Morris, these are morphological wonders that can change their look at will. They also sing to each other, vibrating the stems of the plants.

Lady Gaga is not the only person to have bugs named after them. Last year, a little beetle was named after Greta Thunberg, Stee Irwin inspired the name of a blood parasite and President Obama inspired a new species of fish living in corals .
