Hong Kong actor Kenneth Tsang ‘dies in COVID quarantine hotel’ after returning from Singapore | Ents & Arts News

Kenneth Tsang, an actor known internationally for films such as Die Another Day and Rush Hour 2, is believed to have died after being found in a COVID-19 quarantine hotel.

According to the South China Morning Post, the 86-year-old was undertaking seven days of mandatory quarantine after returning from Singapore.

The outlet says he was discovered on the floor of his hotel room by staff on May 27.

No cause of death was given, but he reportedly tested negative for COVID-19[feminine] and had no underlying medical conditions.

Hong Kong and China have faced a huge increase in COVID-19 infections in shut down large parts of major cities and confining citizens to apartment buildings and hotels.

China is still committed to its zero COVID policy, despite the spike in infections.

Tsang has over 230 acting credits to his credit, mostly in films and TV shows made in Hong Kong, appearing in a number of crime and martial arts productions.

He played General Moon in Die Another Day, Pierce Brosnan’s latest James Bond, Captain Chin in Rush Hour 2 and Freddie Lau in Stan Lee’s Lucky Man on Sky.

Born in 1935 in Shanghai, Tsang began acting after earning an architecture degree in California.

In 1969 alone he appeared in more than 20 films and worked until his death.

He was married three times, having children with his first and second wives, Lan Di and Barbara Tang.
