Doctor Who’s New Star Is Sex Education Actor Ncuti Gatwa
Ncuti Gatwa will take over from Jodie Whittaker on Doctor Who, the BBC announced on Sunday, ending speculation over the next regeneration of the Time Lords.

Whittaker became the 13th Doctor and the first woman to play the alien, alien Time Lord who regenerates into new bodies in 2017, when she took over from Peter Capaldi. His final episode of Doctor Who is set to air later this year.
The original Doctor Who series spanned from 1963 to 1989. Since the series relaunch in 2005, the Doctor has been played by Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant and Matt Smith, in addition to Capaldi and Whittaker. Other stars, including Karen Gillan and Billie Piper, have made a name for themselves on the show as sidekicks to Doctors.

As well as seeing the start of Gatwas’ tenure, the next year also marks Davies’ return to Doctor Who after more than a decade away.
Russell T Davies is almost as iconic as the Doctor himself and being able to work with him is a dream come true, Gatwa said.
The writer and producer helmed the reboot until 2009 and worked on shows such as A Very English Scandal and Its A Sin in the meantime. It promises a spectacular 2023.
Unlike the Doctor, I may only have one heart, but I give my all to this show, Gatwa added.
