Ranveer Singh’s social comedy, Jayeshbhai Jordaar got off to a poor start at the box office. According to the first estimates, the film collected in the range of Rs. 2.85 to 3.15 crores on his first day. The film had nothing in its favor and if one were to pass judgment on morning shows alone, even Rs. 2.50 crores would have been a challenge.

There was a small growth, as expected towards the evening and night shows, which brought the film to around Rs. 3 crores. But that growth wasn’t enough to give it a respectable start. This opening basically lowered the curtains to Jayeshbhai Jordaar already as it would be yet another post-pandemic release that would end at around Rs. 20-30 crore at best.

One would have hoped that word of mouth would come into the picture and increase the collections throughout the weekend, but with Jayeshbhai Jordaar, the speech is also very mixed. While the film genre caters to a multiplex audience, the look of the film can no longer appeal to the high-end plex audience. It’s a movie that probably didn’t even warrant the presence of someone like Ranveer Singh, but nonetheless, what’s done is done. We now have our eyes set on how the film performed in its opening weekend.

Although a jump is unlikely, we still hope the film will show a miracle and surprise us throughout the weekend.
