Whether it’s Tim Burton and Johnny Depp or Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio, these actor/director duos really get the best out of each other. They continue to shoot several films together due to their successful and comfortable couple. However, there are some who do not always get along.

After calling off her engagement to then-fiancé Kiefer Sutherland, Julia Roberts landed the role of Tinkerbell in Steven Spielberg. To hang up. The cast and crew saw Roberts as unhinged and with constant mood swings. She would sit in her trailer for hours and when Spielberg needed her for a scene, she would show up late to perform. This caused friction between the actor and the director. Julia has probably been through the hardest times of her life [during filming]”, says Spielberg. “And it was just a bad time for all of us that she started Hook at this low point.

George Clooney noticed the aggressive behavior of director David O. Russell on the set ofthree kings. When Clooney saw Russell yelling at a crew member, it was enough for Clooney to get involved and put a strain on their relationship.

Kevin Smith claims that Bruce Willis only saw him as an amateur director and received no help from the actor on the set of his film, get out of the cop. Smith shared that Bruce once told him “I’m Bruce Willis and I’ve been doing this for 25 years with great success. How long have you been silent *****? Please don’t put your stink on me loser.”

Willis replied to Smith’s comment saying, Poor Kevin. He’s just a whiner, you know? We had some personal issues with how we approached work. I don’t have an answer for him. I’m never going to call it and expose it in public. Sometimes you just don’t get along.

Although the relationship between Edward Norton and director Tony Kaye was not the best during the filming of American history x, the two further argued during the film’s editing. Norton felt that Kaye cut too much from the film. Norton re-edited the film which angered Kaye. He wanted his name removed from the film and replaced with a nickname like “Humpty-Dumpty”, but Kaye’s name stuck.

Amy Adams struggled on the set of the David O. Russell movie, american hustle. The director would make Adams cry. He was hard on me, that’s for sure, she told GQ. It was a lot. I was really devastated on set.

Katherine Heigl and Judd Apatow

In a 2008 interview with Vanity Fair, Heigl said Judd Apatow’s film, knocked upshowed his character unfavorably. It was a bit sexist she says. He portrays women as shrews, humorless and uptight, and he portrays men as lovable, goofy, fun guys. It exaggerated the characters, and I struggled with that on some days. I play such a bitch; why is she such a killjoy? Why is this how you represent women?

In an interview on The Howard Stern Showin 2009, Apatow gave his reaction to Heigl’s comments. “[You’d think] at some point i get a call saying “sorry i was tired…” and the call never comes”, he said.

Dunaway’s time on the set of Chinese districtwasn’t his or director Roman Polanski’s favorite memory. She claimed that Polanski was misogynistic towards her. They even fought for bathroom breaks. While filming a car scene, Polanski wouldn’t let Dunaway go to the bathroom. Supposedly she filled a cup with her urine and threw it in her face to which he has answered Asshole, that’s piss!

Bjrk and director Lars von Trier have strained their relationship since filming began. In one instance, Bjrk’s way of greeting von Trier was to spit on the floor. She would be late for bed and when she arrived she ignored von Trier. When she was finally ready to talk to him, von Trier was fed up with her behavior. “I took a chair and there was a big screen right next to it and I just broke it,” said von Trier. “For no reason, or for the reason of all that. And I went out. Bjrk didn’t mince words when talking about the director. He needs a woman to provide his soul’s work”, she shared. “And he envies them and hates them for it. So he has to destroy them during filming. And hide the evidence.”

batman foreverDirector Joel Schumacher grew to dislike Val Kilmer while filming the iconic film. He behaved badly, he was rude and inappropriate, Schumacher asserted. What started as an SNL skit has become a beloved comedy movie. Wayne’s World was directed by Penelope Spheeris. When Myers was unhappy with the final cut of the film, he wanted to continue editing it without Spheeris. Myers didn’t want Spheeris back for the sequel. “Because of that, he decided I couldn’t direct it, and he had power with the studio, because without Mike, you don’t have a movie,” explained Spheeris. “So I was snubbed there.”

Director Joss Whedon replaced Zack Snyder during reshoots for Justice League. However, the set had not been pleasant for Gal Gadot where she recalled an instance where the director threatened her career. I was shocked by the way he spoke to me, Gadot said. You are giddy because you can’t believe it was just told to you. And if he tells me, then obviously he tells a lot of other people.

Director John Carney didn’t have the nicest words for Keira Knightley who starred in his film, Restart. “I learned that I will never make a movie with models again” said Carney. “Keira’s thing is to hide who you are and I don’t think you can be an actor and do that.”

Director David Fincher is notoriously known for his grueling filming schedule. After filming the Zodiac, Fincher recalled a comment Robert Downey Jr. made to him during filming: “[Robert] came up to me and said, ‘I can’t work like this, I can never get to my trailer, I can never pull myself together’. I am up 14 hours a day. “”Downey left pots of urine around the set to protest Fincher’s grueling schedule.

I remember him saying to me, ‘I don’t care what you say, I just want to shoot the dance numbers. If it had been shorter, it would have been gritty and would have been a really good popcorn movie.”
