Sissy Sheridan’s TikTok shows facial mask earring failure

Sissy Sheridan, a 16-year-old actress and host of a Nickelodeon web series called DIY with me, recently shared a video with him popular TikTok channel in which she cries and is in distress. She said that on Sunday, an employee of Icing by Claire’s pierced a mask that she was wearing.

She told BuzzFeed News that she had her ears pierced at an Icing by Claire’s store in Sterling, Virginia, near her home.

Sissy and her mother, Leisa, provided several videos and photos showing the strap of her mask still in the back of her ear – even after trying to cut it.

They said they provided the same image to the district manager and asked for a full refund, but were told that they should remove the earring and return it to the store for a refund.

Sissy told BuzzFeed News that she was nervous and excited to have a third earring on each ear when she entered the store with her mother and a close friend over the weekend. She wore two masks to be extremely careful.

“I wear two masks because one covers more than the other. The blue does not cover as much and I know the woman [doing the piercing] would be close enough to me, “she said.

“She does the first one, which is the right ear, and that’s the one [she got] the mask remained, “she said.” I had no idea. I’m just sitting on the chair. I did not feel anything. There was no sign that the mask had been pierced by ear. “

Sissy said she was “already a little excited” because she didn’t like the placement of the piercing. So when they got into their car to go home, she was upset when she realized that her blue mask may have been pierced in her right ear.

“[My mask] doesn’t come off, so I thought it might get stuck behind the ear or the hair. I was like, mom, can you help me take it off? She’s trying to get it out. I’m like, oh my god, did she pierce the mask in my ear? “

“She’s trying to keep me calm. Now I’m sobbing hysterically,” said Sissy. She added that her right ear was suffering a lot at this point.

Thinking “it’s crazy” and “what a horror story COVID-19”, she decided to share what happened on TikTok, where she has nearly 3 million followers.

Most of the viewers were horrified. Some said they “felt bad” for her, but they couldn’t help but laugh. Monday, Sissy said she sees humor in what happened to her.

“This is funny – what are the chances of that happening? “

She said she had to “fold her ears forward” so her mother could take scissors and cut the piercing. As it has only been a day, her right lobe is still swollen and sore, and because the piercing gun attaches the earring very tightly, she is unable to remove it. She wants to wait a few days for the swelling to decrease.

She and her mom now want Icing to give them a full refund for the $ 73 piercing, but the store manager won’t issue it unless they return the earring.

“Her ear is obviously swollen and sore. … I don’t want to remove the earring while the cotton is still in her ear,” Leisa told BuzzFeed News. “I am shocked that they are arguing over the reimbursement when they were clearly negligent.”

Carmen Sandy, the manager of the store where the accident happened, confirmed to BuzzFeed News that she had spoken with Sissy and Leisa and reiterated the company’s policy.

“She must bring the earring back and come to the store. I will replace it for her [with] a full earring, but she didn’t want to hear it, “said Sandy.” If she is unhappy, she should call the company. “

Sandy stated that they do not reuse the earrings and that they must “damage” the earring used in order to reimburse customers.

A spokesperson for Claire’s head office told BuzzFeed News that they are investigating the incident and “will take appropriate corrective action, including offering Sissy and her mom a full refund.”

Sissy doesn’t want the icing worker who did her piercing to be in trouble. “I don’t want anything to happen to her; it was a bizarre accident,” she said.

However, she wants everyone to reassess how the reopened businesses should be run and whether they should have been reopened so soon.

“In Virginia, masks are mandatory. It is ignorant to ask someone to take off their mask for something as minor as an ear piercing,” she said. “Maybe they should stop with piercings now.”

View photos The advantages of comparing online car insurance quotes are the following: Online quotes can be obtained from anywhere and at any time. Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price.
