The A Listers of Bollywood don’t get what they want. Their staggering fees are now a thing of the past. All the major producers have made it clear verbally that no actor would claim the fees they received before Coronavirus.

Bollywood producers ask A-list stars to cut costs after Covid-19

Said a major producer-director who doesn’t want to be quoted, it’s a different world now. After the foreclosure, everyone in all areas suffered a financial fall. Stars never need to do this. They earned enough money to last them for several lifetimes. But the era of fees of 50 to 60 crores is over. Either the A-listers become real, or they go out.

While several Bollywood superstars outweigh exorbitant fees, others like Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan insisted on becoming co-producers of all the projects they starred in and sharing the profits from their films.

Said a large producer, This payment model will also change now. Producers simply cannot afford to pay male stars the fees they collected before the pandemic. We envision a huge recession and an equivalent pay cut for A-listers.

This producer adds that reducing superstar fees is not a suggestion. It’s the only option for the film industry to survive.
